Weekly Log – April 27: F*ck me.

Total for the week: 0 words.

When I wrote last week’s work log post, I had no idea what the week had in store for me.

I plotted the next book on Monday. Tuesday, two of us in our household who qualified, age-wise, (and wow, that’s depressing), lined up for three hours to get AstraZeneca vaccine shots. There was no warning that the lower age bracket would be opened when it did…we had to drop everything and leap as soon as the announcement was made.

But that wasn’t the worst of it. The worst of it was the reaction, which set in the very next day. Day 1 was by far the worst — I had a headache, was dizzy, lethargic and slept as often as I could get away with it (in between professional appointments).

Days 2-4 were increasingly better, but I didn’t feel properly human or as though I had any energy at all until Sunday, when I sprinted through the rest of the plotting for the book.

I’m now a good 4-5 days behind on the schedule. Some dedicated work this week should fix that. We’ll see.

But man, talk about a life roll!

  1. Haven’t heard of that shot; my dad and I got the Pfizer vaccines and had no side effects. Glad your feeling better. As one of your readers, we’d probably never have noticed ad you write and put books out very fast.

    1. Thanks, Dina;

      I tend to catch up on delays like this, so the release schedule is not compromised, but this one is a serious set back, so I will have to really motor for a good few weeks….
